The ‘Membrane Proteins, from A to Z’ symposium was held in commemoration of one of the most influential scientists in the field of membrane protein biochemistry, Prof Stephen Baldwin, who sadly passed away in 2014. Leading scientists in the field (including Nobel Laureate Prof Sir John Walker) as well as early career researchers from all around the world presented their work to an audience that covered people at every possible stage of a their scientific career. Talks covered mammalian, plant and bacterial membrane proteins, and functional as well as structural work was presented. We sponsored the session on protein secretion.
