Max Planck-Bristol Centre for Minimal Biology
Wednesday 27 March marked the official launch of the Max Planck-Bristol Centre for Minimal Biology, a partnership between the University of Bristol and the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (MPG) in Germany.
The emerging research field of Minimal Biology lies at the interface between scientific fields. It uses physical principles and methods to construct synthetic biological systems, such as protocells, genome delivery systems or synthetic cell components.
The Centre will be based at the University of Bristol in the School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol and led by scientists from Bristol and from the Max Planck Institutes in Germany:
