2016 – MAY: Beyond the Lab: Developing Your Industrial Biotechnology Career
18-19 May 2016 | Manchester, UK
May 18-19th 2016 saw over 100 early career researchers head to Manchester to take part in the Joint NIBB ‘Beyond the lab: developing your Industrial Biotechnology Career’ training event, which was run in conjunction with the Industrial Biotechnology Leadership Board (IBLF) and Cogent Skills.
CBMNet sponsored 12 of its members to attend the event, which involved presentations from a variety of industry representatives, the Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) and BBSRC.
“The NIBB conference was a fantastic event, bringing together a diverse mix of early career and experienced researchers. I came out of the event with renewed confidence of a successful career in industrial biotechnology.”
Laurence Humphrey, Research Scientist at Bactevo
“A big message that I took away from the event is that it’s never too early to start thinking about future career paths. This event gave me a few ideas that I’m hoping to employ during my PhD years to really give myself a head start afterwards.”
CBMNet member Ravneet Kaur
“This experience was very useful and I really encourage all the early career researchers to participate in this course”
